Smoking Etiquette...

I believe in the karma principle when it comes to smoking people out. I find that if you're nice and generous, people like you. Example: One night, I was working and this asian guy came in, putting a pipe in his pocket. I was like dude, let's go smoke. And I gave him some weed to smoke. We went outside, smoked that, he matched a bowl of purple, and we said later.

Now, he's a regular "customer" from me, and he always smokes a bowl with me before he leaves. I'm his only hook within 30 miles.

Smoke unto others as you would have them smoke unto you.

I'm mostly with you on that. Except people really earn my respect when they ask to be smoked out with a compensation plan offered up front instead of assuming that the fates with provide in due time owing to your benevolence. I find it pretty weak and devoid of accountability. Usually I will offer people smoke before they have to ask because when I'm dry I don't ever ask, I just wait to be offered, and if I'm not offered any, I can then relinquish myself to the hope that the fates will provide when they see fit. The karma perspective isn't anything that holds much water for me, only for when it nutures a desparate and hopeful smoker, not as a cure-all for dumbass scavengers who just mooch off of people's hard-earned bud.

I think the worst one of them all is when you meet someone who smokes a helluva lot more than you, and even if you have a single joint thats packed with so little weed that it will barely give you alone the slightest buzz, they expect you to smoke them up.

And the worst one of the lot... 'I came here expecting to get stoned'. Say that, and you can get the fuck out and not come round ever again. I had that a couple of days ago, its like WTF? Youre my mate, youre supposed to come here to see me, not smoke up my entire stash. I know one person that wont be coming to my 19th...

I think that by now, everyone I smoke with knows the deal, for the most part. Honestly, it's so 'lax and chill now when we smoke, it just adds to the high. No one mentions "rules" and shit like that, but instead just listen to some music or whatever. It didn't used to be this like this, however.

I will say that my only "problem" as of right now has to do with the weed itself. See, I usually always have some amount of weed on me, while most of my buddies are dry as hell other than the occassional half 8th they have for 3 days. Now I don't mind shhmokin' them up in their dry times, because, I mean fuck, no one likes to be dry when there's bud around. I've smoked up a lot of my guys for a while now, and most of them at least hit me back sometime when they get their own.

I do have a few that usually just flat-out ask to smoke, which usually leads to me laughing and flat-out saying "no you prick." And when they do get bud, which is usually not more than again, a measly half 8th, they'll want to match a bowl with me instead of just hittin' back their boy from earlier. It's like they don't even recognize that I was bein' nice, so maybe return the favor? Lol, and thaz my rant.

It's all good though, b/c "if anyone's holdin', don't hold out."

and in times of extreme scarcity it gets passed like this, its roller first (of the spliff obviously), then owner (of the weed/hash), then doner (skins, tobacco, whatever).
