A female produces seeds that are either male or female. They may have an inclination to go hermie. Stress makes this more likely.

The female also produces the smokeable buds. If those buds have seeds in them, it was because the bud was exposed to male pollen either from a male plant or male sex parts growing on a hemaphrodite female, including possibly itself.
