Whats wrong with weed?

Why do some people hate cannabis so much? I just don't understand why some people loathe it. They really truly hate it. I don't hold anything against them, but I wish they could just give it a chance. Its so silly all this hatred towards it. It needs to be legalized some day.

One my friends said that he doesnt want me to be offering people weed.
I ignored him and asked people if they wanted some and nearly everyone had some with no peer pressure, he had a paddy, I dont care.
I just dont understand why he hates it so much.

In the ` late sixties a copper came to our school to lecture us on the evils of weed. He said that after a smoke we might stand on the edge of a gutter and think we were on top of a tall building and visa versa- I wonder what he was on.

WHAT I HATE is the people that dont drink smoke(tobacco,weed,anything for that matter) that say something is wrong, They have no personal expierence or any right to speak about it

i personally hate coke i think if its natural and grows (weed, shrooms etc.)ill try it at least once, anyways i think if every one would sit down and smoke a joint the world would be better place

People dislike it for so many reasons. Ignorance is a big factor in mostly all of them though.

The only concern I have about it are that my kids use it responsibly and don't move onto harder drugs. Most parents have that concern, and I know that I sure do.

My kid isn't nearly old enough to a point where he would be smoking weed, but I will indeed be somewhat strict about pot smoking. If you are not strict with your kids about it, they will fail to understand the consequences, expecially with the law. There is no way to prevent your child from doing it (and attempting to is a bad idea imo). As long as they are aware of the fact that they can not get caught doing it, it forces them to be responsible with it no matter what. Thats why a lot of adults seem like they "hate" it, since once you become a parent, it finally becomes a concern, so you sort of have to play it off like you hate it more than you actually do. IMO, its irresponsible not to at least step in and make your child aware of the consequences, and at least be somewhat strict with your stance on everything.

I agree with Dutch Masta about underage use, I think we can all agree that any drugs are bad for children. I understand and honor the concern. As for adult use though, everyone should be free to go to hell in our own handbasket in my opinion, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else.

My main concern with the marijuana and prohibition laws in general is that it gives the government more powers over us as citizens than our founding fathers intended. These powers are then used in ways that have nothing to do with the best interests of the American people. It seems more like a way to bypass our constitutional protections and accrue power than to do any real good. Once government is given power it will never relinquish it short of all out warfare.
