GH Flora Nutrient Questions
Hi I have been looking at the GH's Flora series nutrient recipes for my waterfarm but they only go as far as 3 weeks in the vegetative stage and I have a few questions hopefully someone can help me.
1. How long do you feed the plant half strength nutes to the plant before giving full strength.
2. Do you add Florabloom to the micro and gro during the vegetative stage or only when flowering.
Sorry I sound like a newbie but its been a while since I grew anything.KingDucky Reviewed by KingDucky on . Assuming you start from seed...you shouldn't nute uuntil plant has established a root system. that is noticable when the plant has 4-5 alternating nodes, (true fan leaves).
Use 1/2 strength for a week to acclimate plants to nutes.
As far as mixing. there are 3 different basic concepts on using 3-part 1-1-1 which for practical example purposes, we will say 1=5ml per gallon...
so 1-1-1 is 5ml per gallon Grow/Micro/Bloom or5-5-5
When I 1st started using 3-part, I experimented with the
3-2-1 recipe...that would be G15ml-M10ml-B5ml per gallon for veg,
1-2-3 for Bloom would be G5ml-M10ml-B15ml per gallon. I would not recommend this formula!
Maybe, If you were free to grow Outside??? Maybe
Adaptions to the popular Lucas recipe. Lucas *DOES NOT* use Grow...So, set that aside,
veg 0-5-10=Grow 0ml-Micro 5 ml-bloom 10ml per gallon in Veg...
0-8-16=Grow 0-micro 8ml-Bloom16ml per gallon in Bloom.
the premise with this method is Using Micro and Bloom only, provides the plants with enough Nitrogen, thus eliminating the need for Grow part. This is basically true.
This method works best with clones; Due to the fact that clones take the age of the Mother plant...(another lesson)
I still believe that if growing from seed It doesn't hurt to use Grow part, unless you have serious space restrictions.
But, there are exceptions to every rule in growing...I would recommend you use a 1-1-1 to start with a limit of 5ml per gallon each. this will be simple to follow, and let you learn to grow and experience the use of 3-part nutrients.
good luck, and I hope this answered your question...I gotta Go! peace
