This has happened to me lots.
Yes it will take longer to flower, but just as long as it takes to heal. Say within a week it should be generating a healing nub.
As for what to use to hold it in place while it heals, I have used dental floss wrapped several times around, rubber bands (a bad idea), tape and fishing line. Wrapping it with twine or thread has the added advantage of breathing which will promote healing. You may want to visit a local gardening store and buy some of that green tape made just for that I think.
Remember you can graft one branch on to another so it is reasonable to think it will heal if treated like a grafted branch or injured tree.

yea you should be good man, the same thing happened to me and i freaked out, but the bud sites seemed to be doing just fine the next couple of days. I still propped one up with a stake and i put a loose bandaid around it to protect it from infection, but you should be straight

broken stem need help asap
As a supercropping fan, i have intentionally broken, snapped, and crushed lots of mainstems and branches. Sometime i got carried away and completly broke it in half with only a few strands connecting the top and bottom. Amazingly, it didnt hurt a thing, and i found if i could somehow hold the break somewhat together for a about ten days without a lot of movement, it would heal and form a big ass "knuckle" right at the break, and it was stronger than the main stem. Those supercropped plants always seemed to do better as far as health and yield, but i never did any head to head comparisons on the final yield of the "broken plants", but it was clear that plants that had broken stems/branches suffered no loss in health, vigor or yield in the end.
I dont hesitate to break down a taller growing plant to keep it from frying in the light.
GaGrown Thats an interesting idea. I use it in my small sog garden at times with plants that are near the edge and need more light. You have me wondering what if.... i did that with all of them in the 3rd or 4th wk of bloom. Its a little harder to do with clay, but with rockwool i could lay em down flat on the sides if needed. Good growing all.

You give growing weed a new meaning!LOL I've heard of it! I've even seen accidental breaks heal theirselves! Seen the knots to prove its so! So....... I guess you could run over all of them with a bushhog and tie them all back up! Now that's marijuana mutiplication! Cutting's thrown all over the place! :stoned:
