I stayed in the hotel Abba dude,

hahaha yeah you may laugh at the name but it was actually really cool there, we had 3 sharing a room and there were 3 beds, a tv and places to put your shit if you wanted....really basic living but it was only £160 each for 8 nights, which works out at about £20 a day

You could smoke in the rooms there, when i first walked up the stairs (which are really steep everywhere) it stunk of weed in the corridor

A BIG bonus was the bottom floor was a biiig supermarket and across the road there was a tram stop and a night shop that was open late which sold alcohol and food....not that we drank once over there

ummmm It literally took us 5 seconds from leaving the hotel to the tram stop, and then 10 mins on the tram to Dam Square, which is pretty much the heart of amsterdam...there are loads of coffee shops around there, mostly touristy one but if you walk away from the center in any direction you will find some of the more locally aimed ones....

the second one is a really really cool park right next to the hotel where we went to mellow, we smoked there a few times sitting by the edge of the many lakes and had no trouble....It seems that if you are away from busy places and you arn't completly obvious or causing any trouble then people are pretty accepting and you generally wont get any trouble....although their laws should really be respected, but I suppose people expect smokers to smoke there because of it being a public park....

lol and the third one is the whole city just to give you an idea...
