OK ive been growing a few plants for a week now and the plants are about 3 inchs tall and a bit streched.

i just got my light and have it in my cupboard a metre above my plants, the walls are all covered with reflective roll.

now what light hours should i give it?
and how high should the light be?
havent got a fan yet,but will get a small one for vent tmr...a bit of air will get through the gaps for now am i right?
lastly im a bit stressed of how hot itll get...any chance of it burning my cupboard?

You won't burn the cubord, shouldn't really have any worry over that. The distance is fine I think. put it on 24/0 or 18/6, dosn't really make a diff. It might get hot in there. my closet with a 400w mh right now is 91.. not cool.

The 250 should be closer to the tops of the plants around 2feet or half a meter...most cupboards are up at shoulder height or higher....that means in the summer it will be much much warmer and that could cause a problem to the plant's health.....a 250 is for the most part pretty safe so you most likely would never have any burning probs unless it's touching something. You must have a pretty big cupboard because most are less than 3 feet high, unless I missed something??
