The powder left behind from buds is called kief. It is pure THC and the individual balls are called Trichomes. They contain the phycoactive chemicals such as 11-Hydroxycannabinol and Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, and many other cannabinoids that get you "stoned"

THC is THC. If you smoke keef, you'll get stoned. [As long as the trich's are matured.]
