    Splain to me Lucy: Krumping

OK...it all started a few weeks ago when my wife and I were watching Mad TV. There was this skit on about 'krumping'; a girl went to a dance studio to learn how to 'krump'. OK, I thought it was stupid, whatever.

So then last night, my wife is watching that stupid dance show on Fox (You think you can dance???) and in the opening, there's all these guys that come out and start...dancing. I wouldn't call it dancing...imagine someone in a confined space, like a cell, getting shot with a taser and trying to getaway as they're being shocked...that's what it resemebled to me. I turn to my wife and say, "What the fuck is this foolishness?" and she says Krumping.

I've looked at a few websites, read a few things...I don't get it. Anybody into this, know someone into this? At times, it kind of looked like a hip-hop version of moshing.

    Damn kids....

Lol, this is what www.tfd.com says:
Krumping (also clown dancing or clowning) is a style of dance that originated in the African-American community of South Central Los Angeles, California. It involves elaborate face-painting and freestyle dance moves usually performed in competition with other crews.

It just caught me by surprise, I never saw anything like that. The conversation with my wife went something like this:

ME: "What the fuck is this foolishness?"
Wife: "They're dancing, it's called Krumping."
    M: "Krumping?"
    W: "Yes, Krumping"
M: "Not Krunkinging or getting Krunk, but krumping"
    W: "Yes, that's what I said"
    M: "Krump...like the krumpetts I get from the store...krump?"
    W: "Yes...GEEZ!!! You don't fuckin listen!"
M: "Calm down Sachemo, I just wanted to make sure I heard it right. Damn kids these days...krumping..."

And to Owls point, yeah, they could be doing other things besides dancing, so thank God for that.

I dunno...sometimes these reality shows crack me up. I only like the beginning episodes when they show all the rejects. Once they get all serious, it gets boring for me.

But yea, if you google for 'krumping' there are all kinds of sites and forums dedicated to this...art...

Its just a new dance to replace the old. Us stoners should devolp a stoner dance and make a fad out of it. IT be like a bong hit and the charleston mimed out while being high as shit.

I have a stoner dance...it's called the Post Up. Works like this: First you smoke out and go to a club. At the club, you find the bar with the most women around it. You go to the bar, and just find a place to stand. Oh yeah...tap your feet while standing...that's the dancing part.
