Ziggys wants to know - DOES EXCESSIVE HEAT AND HIGH HUMIDITY MAKE THIN LIGHT BUDS???

i ask because of how my second grow went. although while on the plants the buds looked thick and juicy..... when cured (thats another issue when hung the outside temps were like over 100 and humidity low my buds dried in like 8 days) my long awaited for harvest came out thin and nowhere near as thick as they felt on the vine.
dont get me wrong the smoke was really good (see "Ziggys 2nd harvest" in this forum for pics) just not that thick and dense knock out bud you get on the street - i need help with this issue and if theres anyone who can help me please respond i would be greatful
    Many thanks

Excessive heat and high humidity probably don't contribute to ideal bud production.

Unless you're growing outdoors, try to keep the grow environment ideal. Good ventilation is a must.

Heat and humidity slow down the buds maturation time.
    So yes.

thank you for your response Smokey

currently im using a "closed " system drawing cooler air from another part of the house then drawing it thru the lamps then exhausting it outside. room temp is down to less than 80 degrees and theres a dehumidifier (set at 60% now)

IMO humidy and temp do not contribute to buds being thin as long as we are talking real world temps here. Excessive humidity will facilitate mold growth and is not optimal when drying. Excessive humidy affecting growth is a matter of the strains origins and how stable it is in that type of enviroment i.e. thai bud.

Excessive temps will lead to stagnation of plant growth and transition from life stages.

If you got skimpy bud off of your last harvest then either light and nutes were not adequate or it is just the gentics of the plant. More info on the grow and the seed origin is needed in order to give a more accurate answer.
Also, never judge the buds by when they are on the plants as they drop considerable size with loss of water as do most living things.

Excessive heat will also make your plants turn hermie through stress.

Well everything effects your buds but high humidity mostly is responsible for moldy buds or mite infested buds. Low wattage of light (and lack of light shedding on lower bud sites) is responsible for light thin buds. But just like Jdog7000 said excessive light and humidity also effects the growth of it so it could also be responsible for how your buds mature.

I agree. Really high heat primarily affects the maturation, not size. Iâ??ve had super-high temps before and the buds were just huge, and solid. Just the maturation was fucked up, (the quality after dry wasnâ??t very good).
So Iâ??d say the airyness youâ??re seeing is definitely not caused by heat. Probably not strong enough light, or else just the strain. Some strains Iâ??ve seen [like some Big Bud crosses] just make really fluffy, airy buds, even though theyâ??re really crystally.
btw vegging plants like the highest humidity possible until the point where it gets them wet. Same in flowering except it causes mold and mites so you have to keep it low. But it definitely wouldn't hurt thier growth.
