I am going to buy 2-1000w HID's. I was going to buy a sun system hps w/ hortilux bulb, but i see that they also make a reflector with 2 sockets - 400wMH and 600wHPS in the same reflector. Is this the best of both worlds or am i better off with the straight HPS?

if you are buying 2 1000wtt hids go with the 1000wtt hps for flowering
if you go with the combined 400 hid and 600hps, you lose the size of the area to be used. it all depends on your size of area to be used.

Hello,
My first reaction was to say to get the dual bulb reflector, because of the added light spectrum for the plant to take advantage of.
However notanovice has made a very good point. If you need two 1000 watters then you are obviously in a decent sized area and you would probably be more concerned in overall light coverage/penetration.
If you have a light rail or two within your setup then I would suggest getting atleast one of them with the dual bulbs, for the added spectrum.
Peace
