Hey All in Southern California

Hey everyone, I'm new to the boards and actually found them about a week ago in a hotel room. I moved from Philadelphia to Indio California about two-three weeks ago, with two small dogs in the back of the car. We were all holed up in a casino/hotel and up until this point (I finally have living space) we were trapped. So luckily the front desk guy gave me internet access to speed up the moving and permenant housing.

What can I say? I'm thirty, living in Indio/Palm Springs and looking for something fun to do in the area. As of late I've been buying everything for the house (sold everything before I left) which sucks and is humbling, but at least I have internet again.

Anyone have any info on Southern Cali? Things to do? Things to see? I posted in the California section, but no one seemed to respond.

Hey,Lowryder here (j.j.) Never spoken before but i saw your post and thought...I NEED some friends in california, coss I am staying there for a week in October. My partner in crime and myself are doing the road trip la-sanfran-vegas. I realy wanted to hook up with a local to sort me out, point me in the right direction, and to drink smoke and be merry with for a day of two. When i come to cali i dont really want to be a tourist!!! Flying to lax and getting my convertiable mustang for a week or two. Gonna be hunting down some good bud and afew beers. Gonna be doing a lot of driving and spending a lot of money!! It would be great to have a contact in cali!!!!!

Well you are in the desert communities so you will find lots of Retired people and some Movie type. They hang out there all the time for the weather (even though they stay indoors under the AC). There are many cultural events around there but they are more for tourist then locals.

Most people who I know that live and work out there have dirt bikes and spend most of their free time ridding bikes. Golf is also very big there but expensive and there are many private clubs.

Disneyland is about 2 hours drive from there and the beach is about 2 1/2 hour drive. The Colorado River is also a good party spot if you have a boat it's about 2 hour drive from where you are too.
