Does anyone know the story behind this? I'm mean, beyond his being one of the orginally testers and advocates for the benefits of LSD (as some of you may know), but some of the things this brilliant man deducted are nothing short of mind puzzling and even amazing.

One of which seems to strike me more than others; his view on death, but also, what happens after death? It's a question that no one has the answer to and it's largely debated, but what about something you would never expect?

It's scientifically proven that, after the vital organs shut down and you are proven clinically dead, there is still six to twelve minutes of brain activity. What exactly goes on during this time? Obviously, no one knows for sure but it can easily said that it is heaven, or hell, for the person. Think of it this way. When you are unconscious, you have no perception or grasp of time. So that 6 to 12 minutes could be almost like an externity for an unknowing mind, spirt and soul. Thus, those six to twelve minutes could be 6-12 minutes on "Earth time," but the "time" could be endless on a different form other than Earth.

So, ultimately, no one knows for sure, but most, if not all of us, can agree on one thing about this theory. It comforts you. Because think about it. One of the things that scares the human mind more than anything else, is not knowing the future. Not knowing what's behind that tree up ahead. Not knowing whether a plane is going to come through your bedroom window. Not knowing whether that scary-motha fuckin' snake is going bite you or not. And not knowing what happens after you die.

It scares me, at least and knowing and so strongly believing in a "life after death" theory comforts me. So when it comes down to it, I'm not as scared to die as I once used to be. I have comfort in knowing what could very well happen. I'm just scared about how I'm going to die.

    /End rant.

Thing is, while there is 6-12 minutes of brain activity, it's extremely small and trivial amounts of neurons firing (so far as I've heard), and there's no evidence of consciousness in this state.
