I have to severly disagree with you. American Nationalism is extremely important, and I'll never be ashamed to celebrate this holiday's thunderous cry to the world that we are a free people. You speak of American tyranies in Afghanistan, yet the Taliban Remnant burn down schools there that teach 12 year old girls and threaten to behead teachers. Where is your outcry against them?

Liberal, conservative, moderate; we LOVE freedom. We may disagree with eachother but when push comes to shove all 50 states of us are together. We bleed together, we weep together. We lose our sons and daughters in war together. The 4th of July has nothing to do with the United States thinking it's perfect. It's a time of reflection, why are we here? What IS the united states? What has been sacrificed, lost, and gained by our existance? Love it or hate it, for the last 200 years the United States has been a beacon of freedom and a catylist of unparalleled human evolution.

You could not be more wrong on what we are celebrating. And I'm sorry that the concept eludes you. I respect your views, but I will never be ashamed of this country or it's nationalism.

And for the record, I'm a democrat :P
