fem seeds?

Has any one tried to breed a female plant with itself with Gibberellic Acid... to make feminized seeds... or has anyone ever heard of it... because i read that the application of gibberellic acid will induce male flowers on a female plant?? just an idea

Yes it will.
I havn't done it.
But it does do it.
STS is supposed to be better.
Thats what I'm going to try on my clone only strains.

ok thats good to know because when someone only has a few seeds left you can get alot more.. and from my understanding they will be a very high percentage of females because of the genetics.. but its impossible to have 100% females.. cuz of other factors... but thanx jdog and maybe ill try that sts

What happens when feminised plants produce seeds? Are these seeds worth keeping, or throwing away. I have hundreds of these blueberry seeds. What do you think?

That will depend on how the seed was created. I think a "Feminized" plant as you put it, is a normal plant. If the same plant is producing single male flowers and fertilizing itself then the seeds will be XX (as I understand it).

If you have hundreds of fully mature looking seeds then where did the male pollen come from?

Have you tried sprouting any since you posted?

If they are real BB seeds they should be valuable.

The real question is "Who is boffing my girls?"

I've heard of light-shock method that you should make feminized seeds:
During the first three weeks of flowering, turn the lights on for an hour during the middle of the dark period. That is, 12 hrs. on, 5.5 hrs. off, 1 hr. on, 5.5 hrs. off, and repeat for the first 3 weeks, after which you may return to the normal 12/12 light cycle. This causes a plant to go "hermie" and pollinate itself, as well as any other female in the room. You must use plants originating only from female seeds or clones to ensure that no male chromosomes are present. The resulting seeds will produce no male plants!

I ended up with about 300 seeds. I have germinated 8 and just changed the lights to 12/12. 2 have been culled due to poor growth. How long will it be before they expose their sex? After a few weeks do I need to continue checking?
