as a computer tech, I can assure you AVG Free is a quite good anti-virus program ... as all programs go, it MUST be updated frequently (I do it daily) to ensure protection ... I haven't gotten a virus in several years ... I would suggest you change your surfing habits ... porn, game, music, movie, any peer-to-peer sharing websites, are FULL of viruses ... :smokin:

I was wondering if there as a free program out there that I can download that searches my hard drive and deletes any threats. It seems like everything that I try to download are just these little trials that just let me see that there are viruses on my computer, but I have to get the full version to actually delete them, it seems. Run the program when finished.
This is not good for all viruses, but as it aims mainly at the most recent variants and removes/destroys them it is still very useful.
I use AVG free, never had a virus get through yet!\'EVERYTHING in life you can either do, or not do.
If you cant do it, you can learn to do it.
But you will never be as good as someone that could do it in the first place\'
