My Band
I was wondering if anybody here knows of any modern bands that sound like mine. Our sound can probably best be described as a mix of The Zombies, The Beatles, Coldplay, Elton John, Donovan, CSN&Y, The Byrds and some psychedelic touches ala Jefferson Airplane and Hendrix, with a little bit of Jimiesque guitar work thrown in (but not that much).
I canā??t really find any modern bands that are piano/keyboard based with 60s influences and lots of orchestration (strings, horns, sitars, organs harpsichords). I know of the Brain Jonestown Massacre, The High Dials and the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (or whatever the hell there called) but there more psychedelic and spaced out. I write very pop friendly 3:30 songs so were not some bullshit progressive jam-rock deal.
Are there any bands out there though that sound like the 1967 Beatles with some updated sounds along the lines of Coldplay? We just started to line up gigs and so far have pretty much been invited to any place we want to play but will people my age (college/high school) actually dig the music?

It sounds like you have a really interesting sound, I'd be interested in hearing them.. you should post a song or two in the multimedia section.

I will post a demo song or two after I get the copyright(s), which should be in a few weeks. I will post in this thread when I do.
Bongman,
I am gonna check those out, thanks.
