New policies appear to be failing
So I went back to check my old thread ('Bring Back Other Psychotropics'), and was "amused" to discover that, after I left that thread in frustration for not receiving an answer, a mod decided to provide that answer to someone else on the very same thread. I won't say any more about what I think about that, because I'd probably be banned for it, so moving on.
The reason given was, basically, that the new owner wants more ad revenue, and removing Other Psychotropics was part of an attempt to guide the forum toward more mainstream appeal.
What I would like to know is: are the numbers up? Is more money coming in? Are we seeing more new users? I don't have access to any of this info; all I can see, like most others, is a general decline in post quality, a LOT of people bitching about closed threads when closing a thread used to be pretty uncommon here and nowhere to discuss topics that are important to the community. Oh, and an increase in non-cannabis related threads on the Recreational board since confused new members don't know where to put their questions and haven't yet discovered that this community won't serve them on that regard.
I'm not angry anymore; I'm saddened that I had to leave this board for the most part (found a new one that allows discussion of other substances, I'd link but I think that would be a violation of forum policy), because there were some good people here. I just want to know if this is working or not. Did taking away Other Psychotropics help at all? If so, will any of this new revenue be put into improving the boards (desperately in need of a new layout, could use a broader featureset), servers (no more "The server is too busy" messages would be nice) or maybe the main site (which is a joke, everyone I know just bookmarks the forum cuz there's almost no worthwhile content on the rest of the site)?
I know this request will almost certainly fall on deaf ears, but would the new owner consider replacing Other Psychotropics with Other Psychadelics, so we could at least discuss similar substances such as psilocybin? It's a slap in the face to the cannabis community to be told we can't even discuss other soft drugs that are no more illegal or taboo than cannabis in most countries.Solistus Reviewed by Solistus on . Oops, forgot another question - assuming none of the policies change (I assume they won't), are we allowed to talk about other psychotropics in the context of other discussions? Example: If I were to post on the Spirituality forum, could I talk about psychadelics as they relate to my spiritual views?

This is REALLY getting old! Psychotropics is gone...threads about psychotropics WILL be deleted.
If you don't like the rules of the house, go somewhere else. Either enjoy what we have to offer or leave...just like real life.
If you go to a restaurant looking for pizza and all they sell is steak, do you constantly stop in and bitch or go to a pizza place. Eventually if you do keep bitching about pizza in THAT type of restaurant, how long before the owner shows ya the door? hint, hint
Have a good one!

omg dude, the reason has been stated numerous fucking several times, you're one of the main people that keep bringing this shit up... drop it already... it's gone, it's not coming back, it was the OWNERS DECISION and since he OWNS THE SITE now, it's his 100% DECISION WHAT HAPPENS TO THE SITE period, end of story.

OK, did anyone actually read my post or did you all just think, "Oh, Solistus is bitching about Other Psychotropics again, let's flame?"
I asked TWO specific questions: one asking for statistical data about the site and the other asking about the Spirituality board. Psycho4Bud, you know what's a buzzkill? The fact that you post on every one of my threads and bash me without answering my questions. These are new questions, and I think I deserve an answer. If my favourite pizza place turned into a steak house and the manager set up a Feedback and Suggestions bulletin board or whatnot, and I asked if he thought people were liking the change and if that change meant I wasn't allowed to talk about pizza in the restaurant anymore, I'd expect an answer.
I'll take your response as an answer to my first question: STFU and stop asking about it. Fine, if you guys want to be like that, there's nothing I can do. But I asked a specific question about the Spirituality forum that I would still like answered. Are we not even allowed to discuss other substances there in a relevant manner (e.g., talking about the history of spiritual/shamanic use of psychadelics)? Yes or no? It's a pretty simple question. You could answer it with just a few words. Why don't you?
On a more general note, why are you always so damn hostile? I understand that you guys don't plan on brining OP back, but you act like I'm being offensive just for bringing the matter up. If you have such good reasons for your actions, why can't you be civil with your users and explain them? If you guys keep saying take it or leave it on your fucking FEEDBACK AND SUGGESTIONS forum, I'm going to be pretty miffed. I'm not breaking rules, I'm not flaming people, I'm not asking the same question over and over. This is an issue of concern to me, and I would be a lot happier if you would just give me a reasonable response.

Hempamasta - I have dropped it. I know OP is not coming back. I've said that multiple times now, and I'm pretty sick of repeating it. I want to know what, if any change in usage patterns have occurred since this change happened, what the plans are for this site if it does see increased revenues, and if the ban on discussing other substances applies to discussion of them in the context of Spirituality-related postings. I understand that I'm not allowed to post about DXM extractions and whatnot anymore, but can I talk about mushroom cults? The fact that half a dozen people will basically tell me to shut up before anyone even acknowledges that I asked these questions annoys me greatly.
