advice needed

hey evry1 .. im goin to fit my carbon filter very soon.. but how big does the hole have to be thats suckin air INTO my grow tent?? or should i say how big would the fan have to be?? would this small pc like fan do? :thumbsup:

I'd rather use a radiator fan than that puny thing. But thats just me.

is there any1 that could please help me out? all i want to know is.. can i use the fan above to suck air in to my tent while the carbon filters suckin it out?? if not what size fan do i need? do i even need a fan? would just cuttin a hole at the bottom of my tent bring in enough air? any1??:rasta:

get 2 10" cheapo box fans from a drug-store or walmart, use them. Cutting a hole in the bottom with no fan does work, but you need a TON of exhaust going out.

would this work if i simply cut a big hole in my tent the side which is inches away from the wall ? and i could hang some malar inside to block any possible light comin in.. would that enable me to run the filter tent closed? or i could leave the tent slightly open durin lights off and hang some malar blockin light??

Nah, just install fan in, one fan out. that'll work for ya. It's kinda hard to pressurize a tent

well the cheapest extrater fan ive seen is £55.. would it be ok if i forget the fan bringin air in and just cut a few air holes around the tent?? im hopin the grow wont smell to much and i dont need the filter on durin the night and durin the day the tents open a bit so all would be cool threre..

you'd have to set it up and try it all out. well you still need a fan inside the tent blowing air around, but your exhaust fan needs to be plenty powerful to draw air in the way you put it, see if you can get a gable-mount fan (cheap and powerful) pretty big though way cheaper than a real exhaust fan and they're like 1000cfm.

b +q sell 6" clip on fans for £6 i use one for my clones

they do a 20" box fan for £18 i got one but took it back cos its a fuckin beast to loud for in the loft all night

guys thanks for ur replys.. but would i even get away with leavin my tent partly open durin lights off with the carbonfilter extractin the air and smell out.. that way air can get in the tent no extra fan needed??? i will leave my fan inside the tent on and i could hang another sheet of maylar where ive left part of the tent open as to block any light and air can come thru good idea?? coz to be honest i have the fan inside my tent i will have the extrater fan on the carbon filter and another fan would do my head in as the tents in my bed room .. or i could run the filter only during lights on with tent slightly open as normal then tuen carbon filter off at night close tent and hope the smells not to bad
