mirror instead of tinfoil?
If a person had access to alot of mirror, would that be a good thing to reflect the light? Or would it magnify the light too much and cause hot spots? What I mean is.. instead of painting the surroundings flat white or tinfoiling everything?

mirror instead of tinfoil?
flat white or mylar, Mirrors don't do anything other than burn and concenrate light. If maybe you broke your mirror up and glued all the pices...... nevermind, just use paint or mylar, tinfoil can be hazardous!

mirror instead of tinfoil?
Why can tinfoil be hazardous?
\'EVERYTHING in life you can either do, or not do.
If you cant do it, you can learn to do it.
But you will never be as good as someone that could do it in the first place\'

Tinfoil can cause hot spots and fires. It's also not as good as flat white paint in terms of reflectivity. My house burned down last year (totally unrelated to growing), and it sucked ass, so I recommend everyone take the possibility of fire seriously, and don't do anything that adds to the risk. Trust me when I tell you that having 20 firemen spraying down your house and taking axes to everything is a pretty sucky experience.

I read that mirrors absorb light energy.
Put a mirror on a little stand then leave it in the summer sun for an hour. When you pick it up it will be warm or hot.

mirrors do absorb light, only a slight amount like 1 stop.
