light control
Hi people,
I am new to growing the herb and am trying an indoor hydro setup. Two main questions--would appreciate any advice on each. 1. Can anyone give me any ideas on how to "lightproof" my setup during flowering stage--no photos sorry--but due to small living space have several pots in one corner of a bedroom in an area about 4x8 feet with Mylar on 3 sides (one side is just a hanging sheet). I have heard that any extra light during the 12/12 cycle can really mess up the flowering so if anyone has ideas (cheap I hope) on how to "close off" that section of the room would be great. Is there other kind of lighting I can use (green light?) and where would I get this or what else could I use that would not affect the plants? 2. At what point do light interruptions cause a problem--if a streetlight outside went on would that do it or something along that line? I have read on some sites that if ONE SPECK of light sneaks in when it isn't supposed to you may as well write the whole plant group off and lesser but still horrifying variations of the same rule. PLEASE!--what is the truth oh knowledgable ones? ?

Hi Weed..
1. This stuff is great.. it is refelctive n one side an black on the other... It is LIGHT PROOF and works very very well..
http://www.plantitearth.com/store/pr...id=115&catid=1
2,,, It is essential to give your plants 12 hours of uninterupted darkness... no street lights.. no moon.. no stars.. no computer monitors, no glow in the dark condoms..nada.. THIS is the rule... You may be able to break the rule... but it is a big risk when growing plants that are worth their weight in GOLD.. AIM for darkness..
and NOW ou KNOWM
: ) cheers

I have seen grow rooms that use GREEN CFL lighting (very successfully) during the dark period.. This way the gardeners can work at night. I personaly think it is an unneeded risk..
cheers

No glowing condoms?? Damn! Well there goes my light source. The visqueen stuff looks good. Would the duct tape work to perhaps tape it from the ceiling to the floor--tacks, nails or? Good idea about checking it from the "plants viewpoint". What about some sort of doorway? Thanks you guys for all the super info.
About reducing risks...yes,...why chance it if can be avoided?Haze(y) Grow Log:
