I have a heat problem! Please Help!!!!
The temp. outside is 84 degrees, but I am in a basement and it is 12am here.
I am growing in a closet that is 2ft long x 3-1/2ft wide x 5ft high and I just barely bought a temp and humidity meter and my readings are way too high. My temp read 93-95 degrees with hum. at 47 and I am running 150 hps for three plants and 2 100w cfl's for my sprouts. I have a fan blowing on the light to remove the heat above the plants and another fan circulating the air inside and it seems sumwhat breezy in there but I need to lower my temp. I cant install a squirrel fan for exhaust theres no place for it. Should I install a small airconditioner or what can I do? Do you think adding another fan would lower the temp? Here is sum pics of my closet setup.
Do you think that it could be because my light is so low near the plants? I have had no burning problems so far from 2 grows. I need sum advice PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!Weed4Life Reviewed by Weed4Life on . I have a heat problem! Please Help!!!! The temp. outside is 84 degrees, but I am in a basement and it is 12am here. I have a heat problem! Please Help!!!!
I was able to lower the temp 6 degrees by moving the fans around, but I think I will try adding another fan tomorrow to help cirrculate the hot air out. Right now my temp is 89 degrees. Thats alot better than 95 but still is too high.

Dont use that temp gauge i bought it and its full of crap, get it outta direct light and it will read differently. Try making a little hood for it with a soda box cardboard it will give a little bit more indication of the "room" temp and not the "light" temp

SO your saying that I sould make a cover for it to shade it from the direct light so it doesnt read the heat from the light and just the room temp correct?
It is hard to keep the air in my bathroom cooler because I have 2 cats and they will get to my plants. I just put a fan in my bathroom but my plants are sleeping right now. I wish I had enough room to make a cabinet grow room. I cant really make intake and exhaust as good as I want.W E E D 4 L I F E

OK, quick answer, baby is crying and wife can't find the makeup. Venting with fans is the best for the most part, but if that is not an option I can think of two things that might help. 1. I have read in a thread around hear about an AC that had a tube of some sort that you ran from the window that connected to the unit allowing you to place the AC in or by the grow room. Find one at Home,D or Lowes, search threw the bboard threads and such to find more details. Also, very, very low budget, take two 2 liter bottles, fill them with water frees them then put them in front of a fan in the room, kind of a swamp cooler affect, this works in some situations, but not all, and it is not always convenient, takes up more room and you always have to refreeze the bottles.

On again; the virtue lies
In struggle, not the prize.\"--R. M. Milnes.

severe but noble teachers.\"

Yeah I made a shade for it and put in the shade of the pots. My temp now is 84-87. I just cant wait till I build my grow box in 4 months that way I can vent it properly and have it more hidden because my wife always bitches about it being in the closet, but I tell her I do what the fuk I wanna do and she tolerates it.

weed4life where do you keep your ballast for the 150 hps lamp? that shouldn't really share airspace with your plants. with how small your op is, climate conditions should be of minimal concern. also, 47 per cent relative humidity isn't bad, not even for the flowering phase (ideally between 30-50%) veg phase can grow fine up to 70% humidity. I'm fairly new to homegrown and I was glad to see that the hps lamps cook out most of your unwanted humidity. it's good that you're concerned with humidity though, keep an eye on it

The ballast is built into the light. I dont buy the professional equipment because it it too expensive. Its actually a wall pack for a building just like my 2 400w hps I have also except they were in a warehouse. Yeah my temp is stabilizing and is 84-86 with humidity at around 46-48. I need sum Superthrive or sum thing for my sprouts. I think I am only get 2 females outta five bagseed plants. Better than nothing .
