Couple of Questions, heat, ducting etc.

I just got a 400w metal halide. My closet is about 3x4x7. It is definatly enough light in there now. My plants are all about a foot tall give or take. Heats somewhat of a problem. Right now it's 88.3 and it's gotten up to 90.5 As long as it dosn't go over 90 I'm not too worried, but I'd really like it in the lower 80's. I have one fan in there circulating air, and thats it. I can't really have an exhaust fan. The attic is right above my room, maybe I could cut a hole up there and duct it sometime, but it'd have to be when my parents are gone for about a day. They can't know and it'd have the go outside. The good thing is, my step dad is in iraq for at least 7-8 months, so it's only my mom around. It's starting to smell as it is, and so I must take care of that soon. I'm not worried about that. Anyone have any ideas though? There is a panel I can take off of the wall, and it goes to some pipes, but I don't think it goes very far, and I don't want to be blowing the smell of marijuana throughout the walls of my house lol. I was thinking of getting cheap air purifyer from walmart or something sometime. How well do those work?

Your heat problem may not seem like big problem now but it will get worse as your plants get taller. The tops will get closer to the HID metal hallide and begin burning them, and your plants may wither as they get taller. A ducting system will be needed and asap. You should get make a system with an exhaust fan and a can carbon filter. As for your growing oder problem, you should buy an ionizer and air filter. Also get an air freshener that spreads oils in the air (like glade plugins). Better yet get the ones that spreads ether oil, those nuetralizes oders much better.

good carbon filter and u dont need anyhting else.
problem with em is they need a good fan which can be noisy.
a fishtank with an airpump running can disguise the sound. i blame the noise on my fishtank all the time!

Are you growing without your mom knowing?
I don't want to be a party pooper but if you get busted so does your mom,assuming it's her house.And they will take her house and shit.Just thought you might want to know this.I hope this isn't the situation...maybe you got a script...I hope.

Just to add to some information, a 17 year old kid I know that lives with his mom got busted a few months back. He had a plant inside and a plant outside.

Nothing happened to his mom or his moms house (probably depends a lot on the situation) BUT, he got BOTH a felony and misdemeanor. Ouch. The courts told him his felony will be thrown out if he starts college.
