Anyone work at petco?

I thought it'd be interesting to see if anyone else works at a petco somewhere. I do, and it sucks.

Yeah I know they suck. I hate that damn company, but the reason I got hired was so I could help the animals. They're all much better now... especially the iguanas : )

Man that shit on the link was bad. I always quarantine new animals and put sicks ones off the floor. I'd feel pretty shitty if I sold someone a sick animal...

i am absolutely enthusiastic about reptiles to say the least. i am obsessed.

so i think to myself, whats easy, can earn me a lot of money and has to do with a lot of reptiles? working at petco! so as soon as i turn 18 im gonna apply as the reptile specialist. i already talked to the lady and she said id be fine for the job, but from a non-biased insider, whats it like working there? hows the pay?

with my past manager experience ( if you're the specialist then you're the manager of aquatics and reptiles) I get $8/hr, which is bullshit for how much work I have to do. Seriously. The people that work for me get more than I do- but my manager is a huge jackass. He tried to tell me the other day that he was going to have anyone that has smoked on store property thrown in jail...with no proof. The company's policies are a bit lacking in animal care standards, and a lot of their care regulations and practices are very misinformed. I'm the reptile specialist myself, so I'm with you on the obsession part. What kind of herps do you have?
