1. its illeagle
2. they dont want to see there kid burn the fuck out and become a bum

No, it's not the fact that I'm losing my temper with themand all this just because of weed. We've been fighting and everything just like this for years, it's just that weed is the new thing for them to pick on me about. I did try to give them facts and educate them about it (thanks to this site and erowid) but they wouldn't hear a word of it. Everytime I have something to say to them I satrt off calmly, then they interrupt me and yell, and I start yelling back, and it snowballs from there

Haha, takes me back. That's how it was with me when I first got caught, though we were actually laughing about it later. They were always making jokes about it... But anyway, it was hell for a few days after I got caught, my mom would come in talking crazy with a crazy look in her eyes every morning when I woke up. It was terrible, but they calmed down quickly and it wasn't so bad afterwards.

I too tried to show my parents articles on the internet, but they wouldn't listen, I remember they would read those damned things put up on those anti-drug sites, since they were the first this you see when you search for 'marijuana facts'. I managed to find some good articles that looked pretty legitimate(I.e. medical studies, by doctors, not the so called 'lies' found on those pro marijuana sites) and read them out loud when they were in their room(they wouldn't read them, my mother used to be a nurse, and thinks she knows everything about the drug). Read that marijuana doesn't kill brain cells, doesn't destoy lives, isn't addictive, and is much safer than alcohol and tobacco. I think it worked. 3 days and I wasn't yelled at anymore, and my dad asked me on numerous occasions if I wanted my weed back a few weeks after that.

My parents are and were very closed minded people, you have to pry them open to get them to listen to any idea you have. If my parents stopped getting angry about it(Christian folks who have never smoked weed in their lives), then so will yours. Good luck, i've already been through what you were going through a long time ago, you'll get through this. No way a little weed would ruin your life and your relationship with your family, your parents have probably done it and/or they probably know many people who have also smoked it. They'll get over it eventually.

Edit: I forgot another good trick that worked for me. Stay positive, smile and keep it real, even when they are yelling at you. Stay calm and try not to lose your cool, I think they will start speaking to you in a civilized manner if you show them you won't be shaken.
