Chesterfield county sux ass the most, Richmond city aint to bad for first time busts. Hanover and Henricho are about the same as Chesterfield.

Be cool, keep your shit on the down low. Find someone that you can buy from without violating their trust, deal with them and only them, on your terms.

You will stay high- and stay outta jail to boot dudes and dudettes.

Good advice. I've been in VA for awhile and it is nothing like California.
Every place has it's own character or characters if you will. The older you get ( I'm 55) the harder it is to meet the right people. Everyone thinks you are the man. Oh well. I'll keep looking for the cool people. I just know VA has a lots of folks just like me stuck with nowhere to go and they are out there looking. Whats up.

Glad to see I'm not the only "Middle-ager" here. The Commonwealth has always been very serious about law enforcement, but I've never figured this one tho: Back in 1979 I believe it was, a few friends and myself drove up into a neighborhood field by Brandy Creek with a nickel bag to relax with a few J's. We didn't even have time to unroll the baggie before Hanover deputies were on us and telling us to step from the car. Long story short, the bag wound up in plain view on the rear floorboard and someone was accountable. ( "My" VW Super B ) The deputy wrote me a citation saying possesion of marijuana, the same form I received many times for traffic violations. I couldn't believe it...no pat down, handcuffs, trip to station, just a ticket. Over the next 3 months I went to court twice, but both times the prosecuter said the lab tests were still not complete. On the 3rd visit, same thing happened again and the Judge clearly wasn't amused. (Neither was I for that matter) I raised my hand and asked to speak with the Judge, approached the bench, and proposed that we proceed under the assumption that the substance was in fact Pot and get on with the sentencing. (I asked that if lab results eventually came back negative, that the charge be erased) The Judge seemed delighted with the idea, found me guilty and fined me 50.00 and cost of court. The conviction sat on my driving record (possesion of marijuana) for a few years, then disapeared along with all my other traffic convictions....go figure that.

I remember those days, I had a county cop pull me and a girlfriend back in 78, he confiscated our "baggie", and told us to get lost. Hmmm, wonder what he did with my shit? After all, we all know cops would never smoke weed. :dance: :stoned:

I am on probation until October, lost my license, must serve 100 hours of community service, take random drug tests and enter a drug rehab pregram, and pay a $500.00 fine. The bowl in the coat of the pocket I was wearing wasn't even mine.
I have lost all respect for the judicial system.
I now live in Manassas, VA and my PO up here said the usual charge here for the same thing would be 24 hours of cs and a few months of probation.
What a bummer....

About 6 years ago, I was pulled over and the cop found a half-ounce. In Virginia Beach, the judge gave me what you got, except 100 hours of community service, I didn't get a probation officer, and, I don't really recall losing my license, but, I may have. I travelled three and 1/2 hours to go to class, and, then drove around all week in S. Boston, VA, where my ex-girlfriend went to nursing school.

I had to take a 10-week course (my second A.S.A.P. class, because I had a previous D.U.I. charge), which turned into 11 because I had pissed .16 nanograms of THC on my last test. I didn't even need to piss clean to be released from the class.

I'm another middle-aged guy, normal cul de sac dweller with a mortgage, wife, kid, and dog. I gave up the booze years ago but still like my occasional high. Would love to hang with cool folks in the area. Age, sex, not a factor--not looking to get naked, just chilly.

And I have to agree that VA goes out of its way to waste time and money on busting people for tiny amounts. Must be all the court fees they rack up.

Will they EVER get sensible??
