    you cant really identify the sex until you start flowering (switching to a 12/12 light cycle)

    UPDATED PHOTOS...check em out.

    Burrying the stem is ok, a little. Not more than a few inches from what I understand. Too much invites problems, rot included. Never done it though. Never saw a need to.
