who is your role model

who in your life has made you what you are today

it could come from anywhere
not just people directly around you

growing up i never had no one to guide me
i just did stuff and learned from the consequences
i never wanted to be like anybody

till i read jim morrison's story
the way he viewed life was very different
but i was hooked.i read what he read and then some

also this man named rob hall
he was a mountain guide
for cash he would take people to the summit
one trip one of his clients was dying on the mountain
rob hall could have made it out but he chose to die
with his friend.he called his wife from the mountain
and told her good bye.[that is true heart]

Love is patient and kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. Love is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres

who is your role model

my dad is hands down my role model. he has worked for the same grocery store since he was 14 and he just turned 49 last month. he's the manager of the meat department and has been for almost 30 years. i remember back when he was working his way up the ladder we used to live in some dump ass houses and move around all the time. my dad has worked his way to being a multimillionaire with investments and savings and things like that just working a normal job. he also works insane hours like 5 AM to 6 PM with an hour lunch. during that lunch he mostly plays racquetball, and he is the best player in town and won a gold medal at the iowa games in his younger days. he has also done all kinds of insane things around our house, like laid the wood floor in our kitchen, dining room, and front entry way by hand, built our 75 foot deck on the back of his house by himself, and does a lot of work on old cars. he's also been married to my mom for 28 years. he's also never owned a credit card and pays for everything in cash, even my mom's 06 denali on dubs. yeah, my dad is definitely my role model.
The above post is fictional and should in no way be taken as truth.

If I were to grow cannabis, I would only do so to supply myself and my close friends. Doing this would take myself and my friends out of harms way by knowing the source of our cannabis, as well as take hundreds of thousands of dollars off the black market annually. It would also lower the demand of black market cannabis, and would ultimately help keep cannabis out of the hands of minors.

My grandpappy. Both my parents were alcoholics and we moved around alot. My parents were also stupid, they didn't really know how to teach me and my brother what we needed to know. In between custody fights, I'd stay with my grandparents in Kansas. My grandfather would always help me and teach me the 'grown up' things I needed to know. By time I was 12, I was raising my brother, knew how to cook and do laundry, knew how to manage money, and was paying bills...all from things that my grandfather taught me. If it wasn't for him, I'd be some dumb homeless fuck somewhere blaming the white man for all my problems. Instead, I live my life according to the values and lessons my grandfather taught me and have enjoyed a great deal of success b/c of it. Going to go see my grandparents in a couple of days...can't wait!
...I said my piece, so now, I hush.

Into Thin Air.. what a great book. It's one of my favorites. Have you read Eiger Dreams? It's by the same author, I think it's a bit better. Strongly recommended.

Anyways, who's my hero? Hmm... I'd say Quentin Terantino maybe. He came from practically nothing (As a video rental store clerk in Memphis, TN) to an amazingly talented director.
