I know what you mean. I hate taking breaks from weed (why stop all the fun?) but I force myself to do it often, to keep my tolerance down. Sometimes, though, it is refreshing to switch to mid- or even low-grade gear for a while, and then you hit the chronic again.

I switch from mids to dank and visa-versa every six months or so.

They are two totally different highs, and after six months of only smoking one grade the other is A LOT better.

I actually just switched to dank.

Nicely cured weed'll get you really high and infinite number of times unless it's crappy weed to begin with. Fresh bud is just more expensive, because you get 90% water. Nice.
