Is there a window nearby where you plan on putting the tent that you could duct your exhaust air from? I've been reading up alot on carbon scrubbers and am planning on making one for myself, but from what i've read, its pretty hard to totally get rid of the stink. If your blowing your exhaust right out into your house, then I would think that chances are your gonna catch a whiff of it. Maybe just use that flexible aluminum duct for an exhaust to a window since its the 2nd floor? If thats not possible, I would make/get a carbon scrubber for inside the grow tent itself, and then work some kind of carbon filter into your exhaust line out to catch as much as possible of the stuff the scrubber doesnt get.

As far as noise, i'd say your fans noise will drown out any noise from the air pump lol. At least that was my problem. I had 2 inline 6" duct fans, plus an oscillating fan for air movement in the room. I ended up insulating the ducts/fans with duct wrap to supress the noise from those, and the standup fan I just lived with.
