How much do you make per hour?

I haven't bothered to work this year so far, I live off JSA *cough*.

Last year £10.69 basic/p/hr for an automotive company building 4x4s; I dunno what that is in your currency but in English currency it equals a job I don't want to have to endure again, ever!. I plan to go back in a few weeks time doing QA for £7.25 base/p/hr instead; walk about with a folder and pen type job. (cropped payslip is from a weeks worth of slave labour: shyt! slaves don't get paid, well u understand)

my cousins are caddies in michigan. it's how they all made spending cash growing up. worked great for them (and seems great for you as well). i never understood why folks would pay so much for caddies rather than having a cart. i guess i'd just feel guilty if someone was carrying my bag around then again, most of my relatives over there have their own carts, so i guess some do

Stay in school kids, and get a degree. Get a couple of them if you can. It will benefit you in the long run.
either you're bullshitting or just plain rude. if you're honest then you should be telling us WHAT you do for crying out loud. you make nearly $100/hr and you're going back to school? $16k a month if you do 40hrs? you make $145k a year? psychiatry maybe?

i can't edit my freakin post (is there a point to that rule?) so.............

either you're bullshitting or just plain rude. if you're honest then you should be telling us WHAT you do for crying out loud. you make nearly $100/hr and you're going back to school? you're making over six figures right now and you work PART TIME! what other job could you possibly want? that's anyone's dream.

my wife's sister makes $40/hr teaching music leasons to kids, and that's quite something IMHO.

i resell on ebay. mostly laptops/electronics. it has it's ups and downs. i've been providing suplimental income while i'm in school, but i plan to pump the business up full time. it takes some work, a lot of learning, and the ability to ride out dry-deal periods, and make massive buys when i find deals on items. for example, i might buy 20-40 dell laptops at a time and resell them on ebay. say pay $600 for each, resell for $800 (optimistically). i lose about $100 of that to ebay/paypal fees, shipping, etc. then $100 profit per laptop. so you do the math. USUALLY however it's more like $50 pure profit though, so there you go. and sometimes there are no deals to be found. it's ok for now, but not forever. MANAGING risk is the key. but honestly, i'd suggest reselling to anyone to try it on the side starting off. it's easy to get lured in, but you have to be terribly careful of scams, they'll come at you from every direction. you have to protect yourself, and you have to protect your merchandise, especially if you've got $20k worth of laptops in your house. it's a good way to learn about basic retail though, and once you know how to sell and find deals it will help you on everything. i spend a bit of time on fatwallet, and the folks there are rather into this method. however, most of us won't give out our "secret" niche markets. i don't really have one yet (laptops is standard fare) so there you go

Ok, you have 7 posts. Birdgirl73 has 974 posts.

I think quite a few people on this site already know what Birdgirl does. So before you call her a bullshitter or claim that she is rude, maybe you should do a little research first.

OR another possibility is asking nicely...:smokin:

I know a man selling Grow Gear via ebay. I think its all equipment from raids off big ops. He said he makes £1k/week profit just shifting balasts and box fans alone. I've seen the stock and there is a fair bit. Ebay sellin of big equipment requires space in your yard.

I could make 150k pa sellin smoothies but i can't be bothered. Many people have ideas but are just too fkin lazy like me to do nowt!! Or what we do is top secret so we say what we like and lead people round and round the garden path.

Thanks, Binzhou, for the reply to Forwonderbear, who, to my way of thinking, is actually the one who needs to work on his manners.

What I posted is quite true, Forwonder, as my yearly W2 forms will attest, and if you'll read a bit more about me, you'll learn that I work very hard at not being deliberately rude. My recommendation that people stay in school has very valid backing among experts who know that education makes a big difference in earning power.

I am a senior speechwriter and marketing consultant for a large high-tech company. I've been doing this sort of work for 17 years and have three degrees. There are lots of people who make a lot more than this doing what I do.

I'm 44, married, and have one grown son, all circumstances that make it possible for me to work part-time. The school I'm about to return to is medical school.

Thanks, Haze! I hate to tell you this, but I'm not Jewish. Are you thinking of TootsieRoll, perhaps?

    I come from a long line of Protestant Christians. . . .
