1 week old ...just did a water change ph is at 6.2 ...using 1/2 nutes now ...600 ppm ...room temp is 80 ...water temp 73 ...at the plant temp 83

LOL, I didn't mean that small, just something that loads in under 5 minutes...LOL

Just be careful of salt build-up on the hydroton in that system...you may have to rotate clean hydroton off the top once in awhile. To clean your hydroton...Use Florakleen and rinse it real good, then soak in florakleen over night...I have not had salt build-up, since I started this method between re-use of expanded clay rocks...peace, and thanks for the piks.

very sharp eye there latewood ...was wondering if anyone would see the mineral buildup ...i was goin to wash it off but thought this could be a learning experience so others know what to look for ...and thanks very much for the info on HOW TO TAKE CARE OF MINERAL BUILDUP ... very good info latewood :thumbsup:

When you say that you started off with a bad seed, do you mean just a seed from a sack that you where smoking? Whenever I have real quality buds I never find any seeds, only time I do is when I have to smoke regs. I always assumed that they are not worth planting.

yes i said bag seed ...i moved back to texas from vegas ...around here all we have are good buds people call hydro ...what do i mean by that? I've asked a few dealers what they sale ...most say reg and dro ...what they are doin is pullin the buds out and callin it dro and the rest is regs. Just cuz you got a bud without seeds does not mean its dro ...just means its a female plant that wasnt around a male plant to make the seeds ...and when i got real hydro i noticed that the high wasnt as good as the regs ...the price was way to much ...but they sure tasted good.
This thread was not for killer smoke out of a bag seed ...its more for info ... the more info, the better the next crop will be.

P.S. if you want ill stop posting in here since its not killer buds from outer space ...peace im gone

Glad to help! I like to bait information threads myself, I can appreciate that...Honestly; It wasn't as much seeing the problem as much as the 'Fact'* I know that those systems are 'Notorious' for that problem...Let that be a lesson for us all. Can't wait to see your progress...peace

By all means bro... keep your growing log running. I have tried twice but never even been able to get the old paper towel trick to work in order to get the first root out of a seed. Hope you have better luck!!

Good luck mate.....keep an eye on those nutes man, way too much......anyway, the new growth looks healthy from what i can see, so when that other leaves completely die off, atleast you will have top growth that will have expanded by that time......cheers

i kinda started off with no info ...so ill clue you in
i started off with a bag seed ..soaked it in water and did the paper towel trick ...once opened, it was put in rockwool and into the power grow ...water has ph of 6.2 ...nutes was used right away. The light is a 150watt sodium and is around 5 to 6 inches away ...room temp is 80 degrees and water temp is 72 degrees ... and 82 degrees at where the plant is ...its set at 18/6... ive got a small fan keepin the air moving and keeping things cooled.

the lower leaves have had a yellow tip for some time ...im sure it was from me using nutes right away ... and thanks i will keep an eye on it.
