They were blatantly stealing electricity with a tap, which was one of the clinchers in busting that.

They added theivery to the equation, and that variable rarely pans out to anything besides you getting fucked in kind somewhere along the line.

I would have called it art, myself. However, they were clearly just any regular assholes with a lot of motivation, seeing as to how they couldn't come up with a better ploy to explain or legally obtain the power useage outside of common theft. Its hard to admire it for anything other than scale, since there was little to no genius to it in the grand scheme of things. imo, at any rate.
