Cool pics ! Do ya live in that area ? I notice that there appears to be an Olympic decoration on the light-pole,in one of the pics..am I right ?

Also,I'm wondering, are yer livin quarters there, small and cramped ? Do ya pay alot for rent ? Also,if there's a KFC there,is the original recipe still original..or does it have ginger added to it ?

    Torog-

:smokin: Thanks! I might live somehwere around there...or at least I used to. And you are correct! That is an olympic decoration on the light-pole! Beijing 2008!

My living quarters are extremely comfortable as I make about ten times the average salary for China. Right now I have a 90 m2 apartment with all the usual amenities. I pay about 1200 rmb a month which is about $150, but I have a pretty nice place. My friend pays about $90 a month for a little 50 m2 apartment.

The Colonel is alive and well here! In fact KFC is one of the most popular restaurants here. You typically see KFC's and McDonald's here that have two or three floors and are always packed with people. :smokin: And the food tastes just like back home...but the menu is a little different.

    Hehe...ginger. :stoned:

    Take it easy!

Suoyi Binzhou, Beijing de dama zhemayang??

Ya gotta love the giant Maidanglao and Kendengji over there. Are they still considered to be one of the more expensive and fashionable places to eat? When I lived in Shanghai in '96/'97 you could get a huge meal at a pretty good local restaurant for less than the cost of a burger, fries, and coke at McD's. Just as well, fast food over there tastes the same as fast food over hear, just like crap. Speaking of McD's and KFC, here's a pic that you'll enjoy. I like to show this to people who ask me what "exotic China" looks like. If there was only a Starbucks the picture would be perfect.

Bu tai hao! Women meiyou "buds", zhi you "hash". Haiyou wo bu zhidao ta cong nar lai de!

Hahaha! You know the truth! LOL...Most people seem to think China is so "exotic", but they destroyed most the exotic-looking buildings and such a long time ago...LOL. That Wal-Mart picture sums it up quite nice, Fengzi...:smokin:

I usually eat at home because my girlfriend cooks for me...very good and very cheap...And you can, of course, find some really tasty and inexpensive restaurants everywhere. I don't know how you could stand living in Shanghai though...I detest Beijing and Shanghai...I live further North in a less global city.

I used to live in Binzhou, Shandong...do a google search on that one...LOL :stoned:

If you come back for a visit, well have to meet up for a little :glugglug:.

    God Bless Texas! :stoned:
