Chisme, how pathetic are you and your family if you're being beaten out for jobs by some turban wearing immigrant who can't speak a word of English.
I understand where you are coming from, people should not be given something free in order to make up for something else.
But how are these illegals in your country collecting benefits? Aren't they illegal? Maybe they aren't because your government gave them the right to come there and you should have to respect that.
I am totally against illegal immigration, but not against people who wanna go somewhere for a better life the right and legal way. That's how America came to be.

I can understand Chisme's point of view. I do support legal immigration and part of what I love about living in California is the fantastic mix of cultures. Shit, my wife is a legal immigrant so....

On the other hand, illegal immigration is a huge problem here and it is understandable that people get pissed off about it. We are the high tech capital of the world, have one of the highest per captica incomes in the country, and the biggest economy of any state. Yet, our state has a serious budget problem. The public schools are shit, the condition of the roads in the Silicon Valley were just rated as the worst in the country, parks are being shut down due to lack of funding, etc. etc. So, the question comes up: "if we are such a rich state, why don't we have money for these things?" When we learn that the state of California spends over $10 billion a year (actual figure, not an exageration) on healthcare, education, etc for illegal immigrants it is natural that we get pissed off about it.

thats what i mean.....i can hardley afford my rent,,,,,i work all day 9:00 till 6:00 i pay national inurance and tax........yet i still have to pay for medication if i have an accident...........BUT if i was from ANOTHER COUNTRY i would get all of the above for fuck all....and more to spend on what ever.......thats my other argument.

I understand, bro. In the US we have similar problems with illegals and affirmitive action.

I live in NY State and most of the state jobs are given out based on affirmitive action. The thing that pisses me off the most is that affirmitive action only benefits African Americans and Hispanics. It doesn't benefit Asians and other minorities, who are much worse off than blacks and hispanics. Blacks and hispanics are also given reduced public housing, welfare and entries into schools despite not meeting academic requirements.

Illegals also piss me the hell off.

These illegals will do low paying jobs, but so what? So do immigrants that come here the right way and other Americans.

I'm glad they are building that fence with Mexico. I hope they have soliders heavily armed and gun batteries to shoot at illegals. hahaha
