Buffett, 75, pledged in an interview with Fortune to give away 85 percent of his stock in his Berkshire Hathaway investment firm starting in July.
"I know what I want to do," he was quoted as saying, "and it makes sense to get going."
The shares will go to five foundations. More than 80 percent will go to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation which already has a kitty of about 30 billion dollars used to pay for medical research and give educational grants.
Buffett and the Gates' are close friends. According to Fortune, Buffett plans to eventually become a trustee of the Gates foundation.
Fortune magazine estimated earlier this year that Buffett has a fortune of about 44 billion dollars. Gates has about 50 billion dollars.rainbows.rsexy Reviewed by rainbows.rsexy on . That is mighty kind of him. I think Getty did something similar and also built the Getty Museum and the Getty Villa which have no admission and are awesome museums.

to tell the truth if i had that money i would rely on so many people to spend it on what THEY SEE FIT,
id go to streets myself and see what homeless people really deserve it,
like the ones who dont have 50p to their name but still offer to help new mums up the stairs with thei baby prams........thats the people wh deserve and really need the money,
id check out local youth clubs and get involved with the teens/kids and start to learn which ones would "appreciate it more"
i mean i seen those bums goin and collecting their gyro's then spending it in the off licience ina day....so u know hat i mena right?

humane society is one of my preferences...then youth programs
I' open a no kill shelter and have it's very own 24 hour vet service for abandoned homeless animals who were not breed to be self-reliant unlike bums who can goto homeless shelters for a limited time to be assisted in getting themselves back as a functional member of society

I'd buy some spaceships and head to Mars and start my own free colony of Martian pot heads! Or maybe the Moon, might be easier to get a low(er)-latency network connection there, and while slow porn is better than no porn, fast porn is best of all!
