Does cloning during flowering make weak or hermie plants?

    Hi all.
Does anyone know if clones taken from flowering plants (almost 3 weeks into 12/12) will produce inferior plants when theyâ??re grown out, with a lower yield, or is the only drawback the longer rooting time?
Has anyone done this and noticed a difference in yield?

Stress does weird things! If you take a cutting from a plant that is in full flower,it will stress the plant! Not to mention it will take alot longer for it to root!Should have kept a mama! Then no worries!

SEED... the plant you were flowering turned hermie? or the clones turned hermie?

DO you know for a fact that the plant you were clonig FROM was not hermie before you cloned from it?

    this interests me greatly...

I have cloned many many many, (thousands) of flowering plants and never had a problem with hermies... (90% not past the 4th week)

    cheers..

    I agree with knowm.
    I've cloned hundreds of times.
    I've cloned clones.
    Over and over and over.
    And no hermies.
You would have to have a super unstable strain to hermie this way.
This is the first I ever heard of this.

    But I guess it's possible.
But even my OGer's Kush crosses that were made with selfed seeds didn't hermie from being cloned several times.

So I"m very interested to hear a little more detail about your experience Seedlessone.

I guess what I'm wondering is...did your clones show hermie's in veg?
Or did you flower them to find out?

My understanding is a clone is a clone is a clone. It's not like a Xerox copy that gets worse each time. I have cloned clones of clones of clones of... well you get the picture. It is a little more stressful to clone during flower, but mainly because it takes so long to get roots. Stress does increase the likelyhood of hermies, but it's nothing to worry about. It's rare.

Knowm, youâ??ve done thousands with no hermies, but have you ever compared the yield of those to their sisters that were cloned in veg?
Is there anything else different about them Iâ??d want to know? Iâ??m trying to decide whether to grow these out for my next crop (theyâ??re rooted and look green), or buy some that I know are good from my friend.

Hmmm interesting GROW.. I have never thought of that...

You are wondering if the plants that are cloned during vegging have a different yield than the plants cloned during flowering...?

Actually, I have noticed what probably a lot of people have noticed.. when you have a clone that actually has female hairs on it, each of the calyx's tuns into a branch.. making for some very interesting grows.. there is actually no better way to grow a BUSHY plant... no amount of TOPPING can produce this kind of indiviual BRANCH growth (that a flowering clone turned to veg cycle can produce)

I have also noticed that plants started from seed (that are not topped) seem to give the biggest single COLAS... (side note)

Depending on HOW (training, pruning, nutrients, numebr of plants, etcetera) one chooses to grow and HOW one lights their garden are the primary elements regarding yield... I do not think that a clone from a vegging plant will have a different yield than a clone from a flowering plant...

the time it takes to produce/harvest equal amounts of GANJA will probably take a bit longer for the clone taken from the FLOWERING plant...

    WOW.. that was a mouthful...

IT is well known that seeds yield more then clones.
And the older a clone gets(takes 20-30 years) it will begin to loose vigor and yield.

Heres a pic of a revegged Blue Dot.
    They grow crazy.
