Again forgive me for the noob question, but with aeroponics, it seems like you wouldn't be able to grow large enough plants due to the small container. Of course, since I haven't found Zandors aeroponic setup, he may have solved that. Off to the search I go.

Actually, Zandor's aero system is made for cloning...then he uses the system I described with drip lines...(Sorry i mis-stated that earlier). He also put rooted clones in that drip system...more plants, less size, same yield concept.

IMO you odn't want to grow trees in aero units.

If I am going with the Water Farms 8 pack, or the Ebb & Gro 12 or 18 site, do I grow the plants start to finish in the same bucket, or do I need to transplant them. Obviously I would start the seeds outside the bucket, assuming in rock wool or another similair medium. But past the germination and initial growth would I just plop them in and let em go? Also, if using the expanded clay pellets, would the rockwool cube just sit down inside of the pellets? Sorry if these questions are noobish, Rating: 5

As far as trees go in aeroponic systems I agree with latewood..

For two main reasons.. (which can be overcome.. and I have actually seen some great trees in aeropnic systems)

1. plants that start to produce more than 3 ounce.. lets say 10 ounces or even 2 lbs need a tremendous amount of support... and most aeropnic systems do not offer JACK SHIT for plant supprt... plants will fall over and even worse, fall into the reservoir..

2. When growing BIG plants, the roots have a tendency to grow into reservoirs... roots sitting in water,,, even running water, adds a whole list of potential problems.. ROOT ROT may be the only thing worse than mites... yikes..

BONGER.. are you considering grwoing trees in the aquamist?

IF so you should consider modifying the net cups.. they can fall into the reservoir.. they are easy to modify....

and you should also consider adding airstones to the reservoirs.. this will dramaticaly increase root growth... it is so noticable that you will see a HUGE difference in the roots that land directly on top of the air stones verses the roots that are 5-10 inches away!!

I wasnt thinking of growing trees, but I would like at least one oz per plant. That would give me one pound per system. With 2 1000 watt HPS lights I think I am being reasonable. How are the mods made to the cups ? And, will that be in seemorebud III ? I hope you changed the billing name.

One ounce per plant is very managable. You won't need to modify for that size...system will support those. peace

But if I did want to push it a bit over the 1oz per plant, how would I reinforce the netpots? I am just curious is all. I am looking at a grow once a year, and the rest of the year I am going to be growing vegatables.
