    Do you transplant?

If I am going with the Water Farms 8 pack, or the Ebb & Gro 12 or 18 site, do I grow the plants start to finish in the same bucket, or do I need to transplant them. Obviously I would start the seeds outside the bucket, assuming in rock wool or another similair medium. But past the germination and initial growth would I just plop them in and let em go? Also, if using the expanded clay pellets, would the rockwool cube just sit down inside of the pellets? Sorry if these questions are noobish, but I have 1 soil grow beneath my belt, and am switching to hydro at the wifes request.

    Do you transplant?

    Hi mr. od

no transplanting.. if i understand your question..

one medium for seed or clone..
then your transfer that medium(with your rooted plant) into your hydroponic medium/grow container.. it stays in that container until its dying day..

why does your wife want you to go hydro?
    : )

So since they are going into 2 or 3 gallon buckets, I would germinate them in fairly large pieces of my medium, correct? And if I was to use the clay pellets? Would I still germinate them in the medium and transfer that into the pellets?

My wife wants to go hydro because I made a bit of a mess at times with the soil, and she is fascinated by gadgets and technology. I love my wife.. :smokin:

    HI JERRRRRRRR....

Many people that grow in hydroton clay pellets will start their clones/seeds in rockwool... 2x2x1 or 1.5 inch rockwool cubes.. and then transfer these cubes directly into the clay pellets...

It is advised to soak your cubes for 24 hours in 5.0 ph water before using them.. not necessary though

    cheers

YOU should consider looking at the aeroponic set ups that ZANDOR has designed.. they are amazingly simpe.. and then you will have him online here at cc.com as your personal HELP HOTLINE.. LOL

Again forgive me for the noob question, but with aeroponics, it seems like you wouldn't be able to grow large enough plants due to the small container. Of course, since I haven't found Zandors aeroponic setup, he may have solved that. Off to the search I go.

You could use 8" netpots and grow a damn big plant using aeroponics. I am glad I held off on buying what I was going to finally use. I do believe I finally sold myself, along with the video I bought from G-Kno's site on the Auquamist system. I am going to buy one, and build 2 more after I see what one looks like. Cant be all that much to it. Here is the link to their site if you would like to have a look at them.

That looks interesting, but I am trying to fill a 32 sq. ft. area. I think I am most interested in a pot system that can be expanded, or a different type that I can build and customize myself.

    I still can't find Zandor's aeroponic build...

3 of those systems you looked at grew 7 pounds+ in a 36 sq ft area. G-Kno can attest to that.
