so it's a tuesday afternoon... my little brother walks in ( turns 13 tommorow by the way ) and says, "Rob... i've got something to show you".
So i say, " yeah, what???"

He shows me 2 bottles of jagermeister, and says "do you want to buy this"?

ok... first of all, he's going into 7th grade and he's holding 2 bottles of jager. Somethings wrong with that picture

So i say, " hey buddy, how about i get some of that for free"

He agrees

so 30 minutes ago, he walks into my room and says "hey Rob, i'll trade you that jager ( it can be yours ) if you get me some Weed".

Now he's asking for weed

So i really dont' want to give weed to a 7th grader... i think he should be in 8th grade before he tries it.

I say, "alright... let me go get some".

So i go out to the kitchen and i pour a tad bit of sage, a shitload of oregano, and some other herb into a bag.

i come back into the room and i say "here's your weed"...


Now he's like, "will you roll me a joint?"




So basically, am i a asshole because i just gave my little brother fake weed. I only did it because i don't want him smoking, and he insists on trying it...


should i tell him that i sold him fake weed?

what should i do man... he's gonna be in 7th grade soon and i know if this keeps up, he's gonna try it.

Fuck... i can see him turning into a tweaker. He has a bad personality for this shit...

I mean, i only smoke like once a week now... i barely spend money on weed. Occasionally, i buy a gram bag of some real good stuff and smoke it with some friends

The age old c.com question,... how young is too young. To some 13 is too young. As people age we see things from differant perspectives. I'm old so yeah,... he's definately too young. He isn't even done growing yet. A 13 year old boy is still waithing for his voice to change and to find his first body hairs. Their brain chemistry is still developing. Anyway,... that's my 2 cents.

just dont tell him and always give him the same shit if he asks again. hopefully he'll decide he doesn't like weed and won't try it again for a long time.

I think you did the right thing in everything.

You taught him an important lesson about getting ripped off, and you probably stopped him from smoking for a little while. Now, I could go into what age I think is right for someone to start smoking, but then we'd probably just be going around in circles here. So I will say, that the final gesture you should make on this manner, is buying him a fat sack on whatever age you think is best. That way, you didn't really "rip him off", just made him wait, which is smart.

For future reference, though, make sure any bottles he hands you of anything are unopened. Remember, he's been fooled before, and nobody likes realizing what they're drinking tastes like, and probably is, draino.
