The word 'marijuana' was used by the perpetuators of cannabis prohibition because the word 'marijuana' is espanol in origin.

It has been cited, many times, that the perpetuators of prohibition used racism quite flagrantly to appeal to racism in the masses (which was especially common in the era) in order to further drive their cause. Marijuana was a term used for a judgemental twist on Cannabis, long ago!

I either call it pot or dope, myself. I try to limit my syllables to about 3 per drunken slur.

"Pot" this is one of those threads that you will either understand completely, or not at all. i have always put bad connotations on the word "pot". nowadays when somebody who is ignorant and against marijuana, they usually refer to it as pot. on anti marijuana commercials and websites, they always use that word, and now i never use it and neither do my friends. whenever someone says "pot" i get a strong urge to correct them. tell them to say weed or marijuana or something. i would never take offense Rating: 5
