Can't wait, I wanna grow NOW, cfl questions.
I still intend on building the project I mentioned a few days back, however, I wanna get growing now! I have a large shipping crate that I would like to use for a smallish swc. (shallow water culture). The inside diamentions are 19"x19"x19".
I know this is on the smallish side, but if folks can grow in a computer case, why not this crate? Okay, I went to Home Depot today. I wanted to get a few cfl's for everyday use, help cut back on electric bill and be less noticable to leo's once my other box is done. One thing I noticed is they didn't have any bulbs that had higher lumens then 2000!
I've seen folks talking about and giving links for places online that sell higher rated cfl's online. For the presant time, I'ld like to just go someplace local and get them. I know home depot is out. What about Lowes? Menards? Target? Walmart?
I'd also like to hear from folks that have tried those oder controling cfl's. Are they worth the price?
Thanks,

Wal-mart sells a 'sun light' line of bulbs by Lights Of America.
Theres several different wattages and configurations to the bulbs. The color temps are 6400k for smaller ones, 6700k for the 35 watts models. Don't stress what looks to be low lumens compared to what folks say ya need per sq.foot. Being able to get the bulbs ultra close without burning the plant negates that issue. I've seen some vegitative development that looked to me to be a plant growing faster than the cells could keep up with!
Just be mindful to switch to a warmer bulb (red spectrum) before your plants out grow your cabinet.
