Hello,

I would suggest, before anything else, do some research at www.overgrow.com and at www.icmag.com. Both sites have some great information on cultivation and seed genetics for breeding.

You are going to need to purchase lights if you do not already have them.

I would suggest buying some fluorescent fixtures for your early vegging (sprouts, seedlings, and clones) a (size depending on your circumstances) Metal Halide light for the rest of your vegetive cycle and finally a (again, size depending) High Presure Sodium for flowering (buding).

Soil is certainly the "safest" way to go for your first few times around. However, on the other hand some people I have met have gone strait to hydro with great success.

Use a nice plain organic soil (with no additives, i.e. nutrients) for your sprouts, seedlings, and or clones.

Once the plants are old enough for there first real transplanting you can remix their soil. A good mix that is recomended by a breader by the name of B.O.G. is one cubic foot of organic soil, one cup of bone meal, and one cup of blood meal. Mix the soil and let it sit for a week before you use it. The soil is quite "hot" at first and needs to settle a bit before you put your babies in it.

Fertilize with your chosen fertilizers. I use Pure Blend Grow and Pure Blend Bloom. Along with a few other ferts as needed.

I hope all of this helps, at least a little.

Peace
