Well it depends on how much money you have to spend. GK has a good DVD you may want to pick up. Click on his profile to get more info.

A good book is always a must for successful grows too.

It's hard to just say get this and do that there are many growing styles and methods you can choose from. Just don't use anything that has the name Miracle Grow on it.

You need to decide how you are going to grow first and you budget will dictate how you grow as much as your experience in growing.

Dirt or Hydro it's your choice. Dirt for beginners is always a safe choice. Generic potting soil with NO nutrients added is very safe to start with. You will need to mix it 50/50 with Perlite for proper drainage. Plus make sure your grow pots have plenty of drain holes too. It's important for the pot to drain properly so you don't have a nutrient lock problem. Pick up a soil meter while you are there. It will monitor your Ph and when you should water. Over watering is common in first time growers but if you have good drainage that is not normally a problem.

If you can't get the proper nutrients over the Internet and you must buy them local then you can pick up some B-1 for cheap and Shultz Cactus food is a good start.

Use quality water and make sure you ph your water too. So you will need a Ph kit for your water too.

They have T5 lights there too have a look at those. The 70 hps they sell is not good enough for a quality grow. It puts out more heat the lumens.

CFL is a good cheep choice to start with look for some thread by BobBong and some of the others who have experience with growing using CFL.

Welcome to the board too.

    Happy growing
