cat stories
Cats are good beings.
I got some medicine at the vet today for my porch-hangaround cat, who really belongs to my neighbors but is completely neglected by them. Put ear mite medicine in its ears and then put Revolution flea drops on its back. Then I trimmed its nails and cleaned its ears gently with hydrogen peroxide (the vet recommended this). Then I tried to wash the cat in our sink, which wasn't easy. Now it's all clean and sweet and bug-free and can come in my house.
I can't stand sitting by while my neighbors ignore the kitty anymore. It's coming to live inside with me and my family and our other pets.\"That best portion of a good man\'s life: his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.\"

one of my cats would disapear for days we take care of our pets but he's an attention whore it turns out he did the same thing to our neighbors that he did to us where he'd just walk inside the house while the front door is open. we knew he was getting fed cuz he'd come back fatter.

I found him as a stray when I was in the second grade...
turns out he was a pure bred "persian meow"

Hey, Wake!
The vet took blood for those tests when we were there, and we find out tomorrow morning what they said. He thinks we're probably safe from both FELV and FHIV because the neighbor this kitty really belongs to brought him home a year ago this summer, and he'd come from a shelter with his paperwork. She brought it over to ask what some of the medical stuff meant. Anyway, he was negative for those bugs a year ago and had been vaccinated before the shelter gave him up. I guess he was declawed by whoever had him before he ended up in the shelter.
Yes, I definitely have other pets. I have two small dogs (Chihuahuas) and two official in-residence cats, Buddy, who's a lilac-point Siamese, and Orange Julius, who's a fat, relaxed orange tabby. They're clean of viruses and all up-to-date on their vaccinations. My animals already know and love this new kitty. He plays with these guys in the back yard, and is especially close to the dogs. OJ, who goes in and out, knows new kitty (Tiger is his name from my neighbor) very well. Buddy, who is completely an indoor kitty, knows him from looking at him through the window and occasional nose-greetings when the door opens.
Sorry to go on so long about my babies . . . . I love them. I love my son, too, but he's so big now that he doesn't need babying, so I'm enjoying a second motherhood with four animals that are all about the size of an actual human baby!\"That best portion of a good man\'s life: his little, nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and love.\"

cat stories
Growing up I've had plenty of cats and dogs that were all rescued. My favorite is Bob, not quite sure what breed he is but we say his name stands for 'Big Ol' Boy'. We found him accidentally while looking for a cat that ran away about 8 years ago. Bob pretty much can do anything he wants in the house... well, anything but go outside. We moved here from Oklahoma a few years ago, and when we lived there he couldn't go outside because of all of the mean dogs. Anyways, I've had plenty of long conversations with Bob, most about food. My other favorite cat is Leroy, he's very smart and talks a lot, but is only concerned with food... he likes salty stuff.
Heh, I didn't know I was going to type so long about my cats... but as you can see, my animals are a huge part of my life.
