    The rule of thumb is 1 gallon of soil for evry gallon of container. I try not 2 grow higher than 3 feet. 3 gallon pots are perfect for this. A 2-3 gallon pot supports a plant bout up to 3 months. Don't let pots get root bound n look for tall pots not wide sqaut containers. All depends on how big u want ur plant. I've also herd of 1gal. For evry month.
