If someone quits for their own reasons then all the power to them. However, when someone quits because they want to impress someone else or not appear 'bad' then I feel this is wrong. People should quit because they want to. Sure it's not an atocity but when you lose a bond as special as a smoking buddy it's not nice.

you say he shouldnt stop smoking just cause other people "want him too" but then you expect him to keep smoking just cause YOU want him too.... leave him be man its his own dicision
I don't care what he does man I haven't tried to talk him out of it or anything. If he Quits thats his choice I just think that is a dumb reason. That story was just an example I was just trying to get a point across. That you shouldn't do anything just to impress someone or to make them like you. You live the way you want to live regardless of what other people think.

Yeah, I doubt he'll actually quit. And sometimes when people are talking about it and I have a feeling my dad is listening I'll be like "I don't do that stuff.."

To each their own. If my friend decided to quit, I'd try to talk them out of it, but ultimatly, it's their decision, and I respect that.
