I think it's easily possible that some folks have fewer cannabinoid receptors than others and can't get high. I know it sometimes takes extended practice in order to sensitize those receptors and get them activated so you do get high because I experienced that myself when I first smoked years ago. If you continue to try--and I assume you're inhalaing and taking it in properly--and get no results, that may be the problem. I know this happens sometimes with opioid receptors, too, because I'm one of the ones who doesn't seem to have enough of those and so can't feel the effects of opiate-derived drugs like morphine or codeine when I've been prescribed those drugs for pain.

The butter and hash mixture would be a fine approach, by the way, and would be a good way to get the THC fat-activated before you ingest it.
