Already always Listening
Let us for a second visit the notion that while we think of ourselves as open-minded and objective, in fact our approach to ourselves, our circumstances, and others is often filtered and even obscured by pre-existing notions and ideas â?? by our upbringing, our values, our past experiences.
We see those filters for what they are â?? an all-pervasive influence that profoundly colors our relationships with people, circumstances, and even ourselves. An awareness of these filters, and a recognition of the striking limits that they impose, allows for a refreshing freedom. People, situations, and our approach to life alter dramatically.
This controls who we are and makes it hard to be freely open minded. Any thoughts on this? Are you able to recognize these filters that have so much influence?
An example to this kind of thinking would be the pre judgements of race, the way someone dresses or where they live. Before even speaking to them or even knowing them. You take your thoughts from the past and instantly have them pegged for what they are. Or do you?geonagual Reviewed by geonagual on . No filters exist for me. While I have had plenty of experiences that have certainley led me to form a variety of opinions, they are just that...opinions. How I deal with someone is not based on opinions but rather fact. Unless you've blatantly have done something to cause distrust, I accept you (or anyone else) for who they are. If I find you to be distrustful, then I just stop dealing with you. But in my life, everyone starts with a clean slate. You have one time (and only once) to dirty it...
...I said my piece, so now, I hush.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres
