I have a 5x5 closet with 6 5 gallon buckets with a deep water cultivation system with a 1000w hps blub its air cooled and i use pure blend fert my leave are turning yellow from the bottom leaves up and from the outside to the inside of the leave SOMEBODY please help

Happen 2 me b 4 It was the Heat from the 1000w. Raise the lamp and it stop but move quickly.

how high does it need to be its already 4 1/2 ft up how high should it be

Age of plant would be nice, and also the feeding. (N-P-K). That is for that matter its not light kill. Gator, Im not sure if you can turn your plant yellow from the bottom up with heat, infact they love heat, just not to the point where you burn them -_-

4.5 feet from the tops of your plants are way... way to high.. it has nothnig to do with the light.. if anythng it is because your light is to far away... a leaf that is 4.5 feet from a 1000 watt bulb is likely to turn yellow from light deprivation especially if there are other leaves blocking direct light..

the light omitted from a 1000 watt bulb looses half of its power every 12 inches.... do you know what this means...?

this means that at a distance of 4.5 feet, a main cola that should be 1 OUNCE (28 grams) will only be 8 grams... YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!

Take your lumens and look up inverse square law; tricky. Basicaly when distance doubles, light twice the distance is spread over 4 times the area(this is why reflectors are so important!), so the loss between 1 and 2 feet is proportionaly the same as the diff between 2 and 4 feet. doesn't fit within the "every 12 inch loss" rule I and others use, but is a property of light and is very often used in my profession. get that light down to the plants!

GardenKnowm is right. It sounds like your leaves are yellowing from lack of light.

Another factor can be nitrogen deficiency in late flowering stages. It shows in oldest leaves towards the end of the flowering stage when you are withholding N to induce flowers.

well they room is about 87 im am using a pure blend fert 2.5-2-5 and the ph is 6.0 im trying to get a picture uploaded
